Beach Hopper – 6km Run/Walk

Course Description

The Beach Hopper is a course designed for coastal running first-timers, families, kids and those who’re just keen to ‘give it a go!’. This short course event will take participants from the spectacular white sand beach at Takapuna south along Takapuna Beach, around the rocks to Cheltenham Beach then onto the home stretch (only 1km of pavement!) to Windsor Reserve in Devonport. This course will surely leave a smile on the face of mum, dad and the kids!

From: Takapuna Beach – Southern end of Takapuna Beach (end of Hauraki Road).
To: Windsor Reserve, King Edward Parade, Devonport

Start Time
1.00pm (Briefing at 12.50pm)

Drink Station
3km (with R-Line electrolyte drink, water, chips, biscuits & lollies)
*Please remember your own cup/bottle/hydration pack as there will be no disposable cups provided at drink stations

Course Terrain
Sand, flat rock, minimal boulders & footpath

Water Interaction
There should not be any serious water interaction on this course, but this is a coastal event and participants should be aware that water interaction could be a possibility.

Age Limit
Children aged 10 and under must be accompanied on course by an Adult. This means at least one parent or guardian must be running or walking the same course as the child and is responsible for their safety and wellbeing at all times. Children aged 11 and over may run unaccompanied with parent or guardian permission.
