If you have booked a bus when registering, you will catch this bus next to the Windsor Reserve (look for event staff in hi-vis), all you will need to provide is your name. Please aim to arrive at least 20 minutes before your scheduled bus departure, to allow time to find a park and get on the bus.

Course Information

IS THERE COMPULSORY EQUIPMENT?

There is no compulsory equipment. However, while we will have plenty of aid stations on all course options, we advise (as we would with any off-road event) that you come prepared with your own supplies. We recommend bringing your own hydration-pack complete with additional liquid, food, a thermal top and a basic first aid kit.

WHAT IS AT AN AID STATION AND WHERE ARE THEY?

An aid station is a location on course where you can restock on fluids (and food depending on which station you’re at). Electrolyte and water will be at every aid station. You will also find a basic first aid kit, Vaseline and sunscreen. All aid stations will be managed by an event marshal who will be your first point of assistance should you need it.

Read more about the aid stations for your specific event on the Event Info page.

are there age limits for the different event options

Yes there are - please see AGE LIMITS on the event info page.

Event Base

DO I NEED TO BRING CASH OR WILL EFTPOS BE AVAILABLE?

It is best to bring cash with you to the event. Some facilities will have EFTPOS available and others won’t. Network reception can be sporadic so it would pay to bring some cash.

WHAT TIME IS PRIZE GIVING?

Prizegiving will be at 1.30pm at the event base in Windsor Reserve. You must be present to take a spot prize home.

IS THERE SOMEWHERE THAT I CAN LEAVE MY BELONGINGS WHILE I’M TAKING PART IN MY EVENT?

Yes, we have a secure, dry, gear check area at the event base. You can tag your bag with your name and race number at either of the start line locations, and the Total Sport staff will bring it to the finish and look after it for you until you’re ready to collect.

I HAVE YOUNG CHILDREN, IS THERE A CHILD-MINDING SERVICE AVAILABLE AT THE COASTAL CHALLENGE?

No, we have not had the need for this in the past so we no longer provide this service. There is however a world class playground right next to the event base.

IS THERE A POSSIBILITY TO GET A MASSAGE AFTER THE EVENT?

Yes, Sportslab will be onsite providing post event rub downs for a small fee.

Event Parking

IS PARKING AVAILABLE AT THE EVENT BASE/FINISH?

At event base/finish there will be parking available (limited street parking available in Devonport). We encourage carpooling where possible. To share a ride or get in touch with like-minded runners and walkers, be sure to use the Coastal Challenge Series Community on Facebook.

IS PARKING AVAILABLE AT THE START POINT OR IS AN EVENT BUS COMPULSORY?

If you have someone to drop you off at your designated start line this is totally fine, but please do take care driving. If you are intending to drive yourself to your start line you’ll need to have organized a lift back to your car. There are NO buses after the event. For more information on event parking and buses please refer to the Event Info page.
