Hospice North Shore provides compassionate, specialised end-of-life care. Each year we care for more than 650 people, mostly in their own homes, while supporting the families and whanau who love them. Our nurses and doctors work to manage pain and the symptoms of life-limiting illnesses, and together with our Family Support team, offer emotional, social and spiritual support. Hospice North Shore strives to make each day the best day possible for our patients and their families.
All money raised through the Coastal Challenge for Hospice North Shore, will support the Community Palliative Care Team who enable many of those who have a terminal illness to be able to remain at home and be cared for by their loved ones.
The amazing team of clinical nurses, doctors, counsellors, physios and chaplains will visit as often as required to talk through and deal with any medical, physical or emotional issues patients or their families may have.
Their role is to ensure that those with a terminal illness have the best possible quality of life for the time they have left. Hospice also recognise the huge role that the families take on ensuring their dying loved one are able to stay in their own homes; Hospice works with family members offering support, counselling and advice.
