Hospice North Shore is a not for profit organisation that not only cares and supports over 500 North Shore residents living with a terminal illness, but also supports their families and carers at the same time.
All money raised through the Coastal Challenge for Hospice North Shore, will support the Community Palliative Care Team who enable many of those who have a terminal illness to be able to remain at home and be cared for by their loved ones.
The amazing team of clinical nurses, doctors, counsellors, physios and chaplains will visit as often as required to talk through and deal with any medical, physical or emotional issues patients or their families may have.
Their role is to ensure that those with a terminal illness have the best possible quality of life for the time they have left. Hospice also recognise the huge role that the families take on ensuring their dying loved one are able to stay in their own homes; Hospice works with family members offering support, counselling and advice.
